AMC terror (AMC's)

I completely agree with what the appraiser from the San Fancisco area has to say. I could not agree with you more about our profesion and where it has led us. I am completely appalled by what our government has allowed to happen with the creation of the HVCC. How can they be so short sighted as to think that they are going to get good quality appraisals paying the cheapest amount possible with no real effort to try and get good quality appraisals from experienced appraisers in their area. I have been appraising property for over 15 years in my area and I cannot compete with new, less experienced appraisers because they are agreeing to do the work for less money than me.
However, what am I supposed to do now? I have a son in college and a daughter in High School two years away from college. Even at reduced fees, I make more money than I ever would outside of appraising, at least in the short term. I know that theoretically we should stand up and scream, band together and not accept this treatment from the AMC's. Unfortunately, I still have bills that need to be paid and have no other source of income. I have written letters, signed petitions, complained directly to the AMC's, and consulted with other appraisers in my area. None of it seems to be making any difference. What else can I do?
